Sir Jack Petchey CBE Passes Away
The league was very sad to hear of the passing of Sir Jack Petchey CBE - we know how much support many of our clubs have received from his foundation over the years.
We suggest the clubs inform all their members, and if they wish, have a moment of reflection at matches over the weekend.
Sir Jack’s obituary can be found here https://www.jackpetcheyfoundation.org.uk/news/in-memory-of-sir-jack-petchey-cbe/
Under 18 Scorers
We have had a couple of questions about under-18 scorers - especially in 1st XI matches.
Clubs can have an under 18 who is their designated scorer, as long as they are competent.
However they should never be in a situation where they are in a scorebox alone with an adult. If where they are scoring is in an enclosed scorebox then they should be accompanied by one of their adult team or a chaperone at all times. If they are outside then their team should again make sure that they are always accompanied or have a chaperone close by.
Live Streaming
As has always been the case, any club that wishes to live stream matches needs to get permission from all their oppositions before doing so. The guidance from the ECB has also changed so that any child under 18 (previously under 16) must get permission from a parent to appear in a live-streamed match.
Full guidance can be found here
T20 Plate competition
A reminder that this should be played in whites and using the standard league red ball. Club can wear coloured clothing if both sides agree. The league does not provide umpires for these matches, please can clubs make sure arrangements are made for the game before the date of the fixture.
Hope you have a great weekend
