14 May 2021

Evening all,

Very positive meeting with ECB earlier this week and you may have seen the new advice has now been updated. Please see the links to this below.

New guidance has been updated

New Covid Guidance Headlines

  • New guidance comes into play from Monday 17th May

  • Until that date the guidance we have been following continues.

  • Playing - no changes to guidance (that means sanitizing hands every 6 overs and social distancing)

  • Changing rooms - can be used but guidance outlined in advice

  • Spectators back - multiple groups of 30 up to 1K

  • Car sharing permitted

  • Indoor Hospitality - can open Groups of 6 inside - seated - table service

  • Teas can be served - however the league has already said no teas until the end of June at the earliest

  • Clubs will need to update risk assessments -

  • NO CLUBS WILL BE FORCED TO DO ANYTHING THEY DON’T THINK THEY ARE ABLE TO

The league will be looking into the new regulations and advice, and this will help us to rule on things such as Time games, Length of matches and Teas. We will be updating all clubs as soon as possible and as previously communicated by the end of May.

Of course there is another step to go, which will be announced by government and ECB in June.

It is of course vital that we continue to be vigilant and continue to follow guidelines. If there are any queries please do get in touch.

Duckworth Lewis

We did well to play as much cricket as we did last week - the overs games certainly helped. More wet weather is forecast for tomorrow, please can all 1st and 2nd XIs make sure that they have Play Cricket Scorer app and have looked into the Duckworth Lewis Calculator.

Captain Reports

We had a few issues with Captain reports this week, mainly due to some technical issues with Play Cricket.

Things should be easier from this week - a reminder it is only 1st XI captains that need to fill in these forms.

As ever please do get in touch if any questions.

Regards
