We had a League Exec Meeting last week and we discussed how the rest of the season is going to look. Of course with the delay in relaxing of Covid rules it has meant that we have had to keep some restrictions in place - and now at this point of the season we feel it best that these stay in place for the rest of the season.
As you will know as a league we have not asked clubs to provide teas this year.
Also that current ECB guidance does allow teas but with restrictions (no buffet, tables of 6, table service etc)
We are aware that some clubs also want to be able to provide teas with these restrictions.
Following the meeting on Wednesday we have decided the following:
Teas will not need to be required by clubs for the remainder of the 2021 season.
If clubs DO want to provide teas they will be allowed to do so as long as they work with their opposition and officials to provide them in a Covid Safe way.
No club or XI is to be forced to do anything they don’t think they want to do - so they do not need to have teas provided for them, or provide them for opposition if they don’t want to.
It is up to clubs to decide how they charge for teas and the opposition will need to agree in advance.
Umpires should be told the situation before each game.
COMMUNICATION is key between clubs over this - please talk to your opposition and officials each week and work things out.
1st XI Scorers
Following the exec meeting on Wednesday we discussed 1st XI scorers - of course this season we have said that only home teams need to provide these.
We have decided this will continue for the rest of the 2021 season.
HOWEVER - please can all away team captains and teams help out the home scorers as much as possible - including providing them with a team card, letting them know batting order etc.
It appears that some clubs have been failing to do this - please be good guests!
The latest batch of League balls has started to be sent out. As I mentioned last week a new batch is due to be sent out soon to all clubs.
If you are running really low on balls please talk to Dilip direct at email@example.com
This has been cancelled for 2021 - we hope it will return in 2022. Cups and pennants for all clubs that are owed them for 2020 and 2021 will be sent to them at the end of the season.
As we stand from the 46 members and associate member clubs only 8 clubs are currently Safe Hands compliant. A reminder that the deadline for this is July 31st and all clubs must be compliant or face actions.
Any issues or questions please let me know.
