Hamro Foundation Essex League

It is with huge regret and great personal sadness that the Westlciff-on-Sea announce the passing away of David Langfield on Wednesday night.
 
David joined the Club from Basildon CC in 1979 and was one of Westcliff-on-Sea's greatest supporters and players. He has managed the Prize Draw for many years which has produced money to help finance any number of projects such as works in the Pavilion, the artificial wicket and nets, amongst others. He was President of the Club and had been a very active Life Member.
The list goes on and on, but we should say that he has been a great ambassador for the Club with a very wide network of cricketers and others which he put to good use in many ways, not least in organising the speaker for the Annual Dinner.
 
We will always recall David as a ‘larger than life’ character, fun to be with, a fount of knowledge on cricket and always displaying huge loyalty and a heart of gold when it came to the fortunes and future of Westcliff-on-Sea CC.
