Eid-Al-Fitr
Hamro Foundation Essex League is aware that Eid-Al-Fitr is likely to take place next Saturday 22nd April, appreciating that this is dependent on the sighting of the moon the evening before.
We realise that for some member and associate member clubs who have a majority Muslim membership fulfilling the scheduled League Cup fixture on that day may be a struggle.
We feel the fairest way to help all clubs is if your club is unable to fulfil the fixture on 22nd April then the match will be classed in the same way as if a match was unable to be played due to the weather. It would mean playing the match on the following Saturday 29th April.
This will of course impact future rounds as well that will need to be played on Sundays.
If your club does need to make a change to the date of the fixture, the first port of call should be to talk to your opposition - then following conversations, please contact the league.
All changes to fixtures will need to be communicated to the Essex League Committee - changes should be communicated in email and sent to Chairman Thomas Clarke before 12 noon on Wednesday 19th April - email him on tpc1981@hotmail.com
We have asked all clubs to communicate with each other around 2nd XI friendlies on league cup match dates - clubs should talk to each other and make their own arrangement around those games as well - the league does not need to know about these arrangements.
Ground Conditions
The league is also aware that some clubs are having ground issues due to the recent wet weather, as spelt out above, if clubs are unable to host league cup matches due to wet outfields etc, then please communicate with your opposition. You are able to move grounds or move dates where necessary.
In all cases please talk to the league as it is important all officials are also aware of any changes to plans.
League Balls
League balls are currently being dispatched, if you are one of the clubs that asked to collect the balls, then they are also now available to be picked up from Morrant Sports.
Spring Meeting Reminder - This Sunday
All clubs need to be represented this Sunday 16th April 10am for 10.30am start.
Venue: Old Brentwoods CC, Ashwells Road, Kelvedon Hatch, Brentwood, CM15 9SE
Any club that does not attend will receive a £100 fine… this means making sure that the club rep gets there on time and stays for the entire meeting.
