ECB Update Following Government Advice - Leagues To Be Decided Tomorrow

11 Sep 2020

Good evening,

Going into week 9 we have some very excitingly poised divisions - all that will be decided tomorrow.

We wish everyone the very best as the truncated season starts to come to an end and congratulate those clubs who have teams that will be celebrating - but I think we should all be pleased with all our efforts, committees, clubs and your members for getting a season on and playing some cricket.

However - we still have to make sure that we are cautious - the ECB have today released guidelines for clubs that I ask all of you to take time to read - https://ecb-comms.co.uk/1FT6-715I7-D5ACF0AF84B599CB7G6Q4Y8F6AB70B57834283/cr.aspx

We still need to make sure that we continue to respect the ECB guidelines - this includes:

  • Social distancing

  • Washing and sanitizing hands and the ball every 6 overs

  • Not using changing rooms

  • And everything else that we have got used to doing at this time

Discipline - I also wanted to highlight that unfortunately we have had a few disciplinary issues to deal with over the past few weeks - this followed 5 weeks with no reports at all - please can all clubs respect each other as well as officials - as we all usually do - even more so going into the final round of games.

For many we just have one more weekend to go - let’s not blow it now!

As a league we do still have T20 semi finals this Sunday and a final to be played hopefully on Sunday 20th - again good luck to those sides.

I wish everyone the very best this weekend and hope you have some individual and team performances to celebrate (in the appropriate manner) this weekend.
