SNEL UPDATE: HALFWAY THERE

13 Aug 2020

This Saturday is week 5 of the season - the midpoint of our condensed 2020 competition.

I have deliberately tried to reduce the amount of updates sent out so that clubs can concentrate on getting themselves prepared and ready for each game.

I think at this time it is important to just remind clubs of their continued responsibilities.

ECB Guidelines

We have had a couple of reports from a few clubs where protocols have started to slip - please remember to follow protocols and guidelines set out by the ECB and UK Government.

You can find details here - https://www.ecb.co.uk/news/1657168/cricket-and-covid-19-your-questions-answered

We still have several weeks of the league season to go and we want to all make sure that we are doing our utmost to make sure the season can be run safely and successfully.

Play Cricket Admin

Please can clubs keep:

- getting your players nominated in a timely manner

- getting the results updated by the end of the weekend

- getting full scorecards up on Play Cricket by Friday after the match at the latest

We have had to enforce a few points penalties - but would prefer not to have to do this if at all possible.

T20 Competition

Round 1 has been completed with Round 2 starting on Sunday. All clubs still involved in the competition please keep updating the fixtures, organising umpires and keep communicating with your opposition.

It has been fantastic to meet and chat to so many people over the past few weeks - and it has been great to hear everyone’s positivity around the league season that we have managed to organise.

I think we can all be proud of the work we have done so far - let’s keep putting the effort in for the second half of the season.

As ever I am always on hand to chat if any has any questions or comments.

Regards

Thomas Clarke
