Thanks to all your incredible hard work and support the league season finally started on Saturday. We were blessed by excellent weather conditions and I was overwhelmed by the positive messages I received from clubs following the games.

Feedback On Sanitizing The Ball

There is no doubt that the sanitizing of the ball and the players' hands every 6 overs (or 20 minutes) is what has caused most discussion.

A reminder that this is guidance direct from the ECB and one of the reasons why we have been given permission to begin playing matches.

However it should be noted that the 6 overs/20 minute guidance is a maximum amount of time. So the ball can be sanitized in one of the natural breaks in the match. For example - a wicket falls in the 4th over of a match - the ball and players can sanitize at this point and then the next sanitizing would not have to take place until the 10th over.

If you have not already please check your fixtures on Play Cricket - we have tried to get the fixtures sorted as well as we can, but there are a couple of issues that are still being resolved.

These issues can usually be solved between clubs. So please do try to sort out any issues with your opposition before contacting the committee.

Club Contacts list -

Please make sure you have got the full scorecards completed well in advance of the Friday deadline. We really don’t want to hand out penalty points this year.

This is now pressing - please start contacting your opposition and organising your fixtures. The draw (now with all 24 teams) and rules are attached.

Home clubs please reach out to your opposition and get a date organised - the round 1 deadline is August 9th.

Umpires and balls can be organised - please email me when the fixture has been organised (

ECB Templates

Please see attached some handy templates and checklists that the ECB have provided for all clubs.

Any questions give me a shout.
