Shepherd Neame Essex League News story

SNEL Chairman

17 Jul 2019

To all league delegates, chairman and secretaries,

I am writing to you to let you know of a change of personal circumstances.

Around 3 months ago my employer announced that they would be making ~25% redundancies in the area in which I work. At this point I started looking for other opportunities as I was not guaranteed a job. I found a great job in Alderley Edge just outside Manchester which I will start in November.

I am really excited with this new opportunity however it is mixed emotions as it will be tough moving away from Essex after so many years.

I still intend to be involved with Colchester and East Essex Cricket Club but not as Chairman and I suspect I will still continue to play most weeks in the SNEL as I travel back to see friends and family.

I will be happy to carry on the SNEL Exec committee in some capacity but this would clearly be remotely as I will be in Manchester during the week, however we will clearly need to appoint a new chairman.

This will be the topic of further discussion at the next SNEL Exec meeting in a few weeks.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Chairman working with the 40 SNEL clubs and will ensure the league is left in good hands!

Cheers

Andrew Kennedy - SNEL Chairman
