Play-Cricket FAQ (Very helpfull)

THERE ARE STILL CLUB ADMINISTRATOR WHO ARE NOT TICKING THE BOX TO SHOW THEY HAVE CONFIRMED THE RESULTS AND SCORECARDS. HOME AND AWAY CLUBS SHOULD TICK THE APPROPRIATE SPACES WHEN CHECKED AND CONFIRMED CORRECT.
I HAVE STOPPED SHOWING THE DEFAULTER/ERRORS ON SCORECARDS ETC, I WILL CONTINUE TO CHECK POINTS OF ALL MATCH RESULTS AND CORRECT WHERE NECESSARY, BUT IT IS THE CLUBS WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN PLAYERS STATISTICS TO SHOW AT THE END OF THE SEASON. I WILL LEAVE THE CORRECTIONS TO BE CARRIED OUT BY CLUBS UNLOCKED WHICH WILL GIVE CLUBS THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENTER NAMES ETC.
THIS MAY WELL CHANGE FOR NEXT SEASON WITH POINT DEDUCTIONS ETC.
Please let me know when corrected Thanks. EMAIL

SOME CLUBS ARE STILL PUTTING IN THE WIN POINTS, ESPECIALLY LOWER XI'S. THIS THROWS THE TABLES WAY OUT. ONLY BONUS POINTS TO BE ENTERED PLEASE

Clubs who are using Total Cricket Scorer and then uploading to Play-Cricket please read the Following from Play-Cricket Administrator Chris Higginbottom. Some players statistics will not show up as their names have either been duplicated, entered spelt differently or for another reason. the quote from Chris is below. Please ensure that you carry this out correctly.

The reason for this is that the scorers are not following the instructions from TCS correctly. They MUST  download the players from BOTH clubs' site databases before EVERY game, rather than use the ones already in their computer, which may have different IDs to those in the play-cricket system. It is also incumbent on the clubs to ensure that their site databases are correctly maintained, with only one entry per player, so that there is no possible confusion over which entry to use

The upload, which is via TCS, not play-cricket, simply uploads everything using the IDs in their machine, which if they have not done the above may be incorrect, bypassing LRP restrictions and creating the situation that you are seeing.

The solution for the games where this has already happened is to get them to manually edit the scorecards if possible. Otherwise it will be a case of delete and recreate the fixture, and they will have to enter it all again manually - a cathartic exercise that usually ensures that they don't make the mistake again!

PROCEDURE FOR MATCH REPORTING

1.

1st XI games only, as soon as match has finished and by 8.30pm at the latest the home team must telephone the results to Jo Greenhill on 020 8502 2064. Failure to do so will result in a £2 fine and 1 point deducted. (This is same as previous seasons for the Press Association).

The Press Association has requested that the following format is used and will not accept a different format. It will assist Jo Greenhill if clubs will follow this format when telephoning in. She will then summarise and forward the details to the Press association by fax.
Example of formats: Chelmsford (18) 236-4 Brentwood (2) 137
Chelmsford won by 99 runs.
Chelmford (11) 203-9 Brentwood (6) 152-7 Match Drawn

2.

All HOME sides (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th XI's) must enter the results onto their club Play-Cricket site by Sunday Night following the match, then click the box to show this has been done. This will enable the tables to be up to date.

Please ensure that you enter all information for the result of the match and DO NOT enter the points for winning, draw, tie or abandoned matches.
ONLY enter the bonus point if you did not win.

3.

All AWAY sides (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th XI's) should check that the information entered by the Home side is correct and click the box to show this has been done.

It is most important that the away side leaves after the match with the same Scorecards as the Home side. Result, Score Total and Points, etc. If the results do not tally the same then the Home side Scorecards will be taken as the correct information

4.

All HOME sides 1st XI Premier Division must enter the Scorecards onto their club Play-Cricket site by the Monday night. All other should try and do the same but have until Thursday after the match. Remember to click the box to show this has been done.

Enter as much information as you wish onto the scorecard pages. this will then enable the statistics of all players to show up on the League Play-Cricket Site.

5.

All AWAY sides (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th XI's) should check that the information entered by the Home side is correct and click the box to show this has been done.

Again, it is most important that the away side leaves after the match with the same Scorecards as the Home side. Result, Score Total and Points, etc. If any of the information is incorrect i.e. names etc., then these can be altered by the away side. If the results do not tally the same then the Home side Scorecards will be taken as the correct information.

6.

The League Play-Cricket Administrators will keep a check on all the information entered and adjust if and when necessary.

When the information is found to be correct the results will be locked.

The HOME side MUST also enter the Scorecard details by 6.00pm on the following Wednesday and of course the Away side should check all is correct.

6.                  The AWAY side checks the entries of the HOME side and when correct ticks the space provided, but it does allow him to change anything that might be incorrect. When completed & checked it can then be locked by the League Results Administrators. The League Tables will be updated automatically.
This will allow for all Results & Tables to be updated and corrected by Midday following the Matches. The Averages/Statistics will be updated and shown by the following Wednesday evening.

I should draw your attention to the fact that club players averages will not show up in the statistics on the League Play-Cricket site, unless your club enters the scorecard details on there club Play-Cricket site. Therefore clubs can enter their own scorecard details even if your opponents of that day have not done so. It is possible to enter all your own club details, with just blank spaces or unsure etc in the names of the opposition players. You are able to enter their unsure players scores in the relevant positions also. This should not occur now as all club and all XI’s are required to enter details in a stipulated time.

Play-Cricket League Site Administrator
essexcricket@btopenworld.com

This was information sent by David Lawrence sent to one of our clubs, which I am sure will help you.

To make the best use of the availability function take the following steps.

1. Encourage as many of your players to register with Play-Cricket and join your club as an online member or enter their names onto your member database including an email address

2. Once you have as many names inc. email addresses as possible on your site, add these people into the various squads that they play in

3. Once in a squad (with associated fixtures) these players' availability can be completed:

a) by themselves (if they have registered with Play-Cricket and become a member of your site) through the availability section of 'my details'

b) by the site administrators by clicking on their name in the member database and completing the availability section

4. Having captured the availability for each member of the club you then go to select the team in the fixtures area. Here the squad will be displayed and ticks and crosses shown depending on their availability. You also have the choice of selecting players from other squads - however if that team has already been selected for a particular day those players will show as unavailable even though they may have signed up to being viable initially

5. Having selected your side you can email them to which they can then respond confirming they can play or not.

I hope this helps.

David Lawrence
