JEFF RODRIQUES TROPHY 2012 Click
I
have split the 10 Clubs into two groups of 5, 4 games in the group, group winners meet in a final at fives in September

If any other clubs wish to enter please contact me by 12th February
Cliff Greenhill

31st January 2012
Gentlemen,

2012 Fixtures

It has proved abnormally troublesome since the introduction of leagues with an excess of 10 teams, and nigh on impossible, to match all sides on a home and away basis, thus resulting in an imbalance of games.  Hosting the Olympic Games within the area has resulted in further chaos, together with all X1 requesting deferments and non availability of grounds has proved “a bridge to far”

I list below the requests that we were unable to achieve, and further the double headers that have proved unavoidable.

Hainault 5th & 6th X1 on the 16th June
Stanford Le Hope 3rd & 4th X1 on the 17th July, although their 5th are away.
Pegasus 3rd & 4th X1 on the 28th July
Ilford 3rd & 4th on the 25th August
Southend on Sea 3rd & 4th X1 on the 1st September
Orsett 3rd & 4th X1 on the 1st September, although their 5th are away.

You may note that also several games are only 1 or 2 weeks apart and these at the start or the end of the season.

Should any Clubs have extra ground availability in the above weeks, please contact relevant Club.

Many thanks,

Michael E Jones.

PLAY-CRICKET FIXTURES UPLOADED
Would clubs please check their fixtures that are now on the Play-Cricket site, especially the 4th XI Division Three and the Friendly Division. Let me know of any discrepancies you may find. email me

DUKES ESSEX TWENTY/20 COMPETITION 2012

WOULD ALL CLUBS PLEASE NOTE EXTRACT FROM 20/20 REGULATIONS BELOW.

THERE ARE STILL MANY FIXTURES OUTSTANDING AND NOT ON THE SNEL / PC WEBSITE

ALL GUILTY CLUBS SHOULD ARRANGE FIXTURES ASAP. FAILURE TO DO SO BY JANUARY 31ST MAY RESULT IN A FINE.

1. Fixtures
Clubs will be divided into 8 regional groups. Each club will play each other club in their group once.
Clubs will get 2 points for a win and 0 points for a loss. A tie is not possible - see Playing Condition 3.
Home clubs must offer a minimum of 3 dates for each fixture, 2 of which must be midweek. If the away club declines to play on all of these dates or if either club fails to turn up on the agreed date they will be deemed to have forfeited the match and the win will be awarded to the opposing club.
Any disputes regarding arranging of fixtures should be referred to the SNEL Management Committee whose decision will be final.

FIXTURES
The 2012 fixtures will be published in the next few days.

JEFF RODRIQUES COMPETITION
This competition was discussed at our recent committee meeting as a number of clubs were unhappy with the new format used in 2011.
The County have reduced the Under 16 Matchplay competition to smaller groups with 4 or 5 games instead of 9.
This should increase the availability of young players for other Sunday cricket.
We have decided to revert to the 40:40 format as for the league cup but with the following requirements.
At least 5 players must be Under 16
At least 5 players must be Over 40
The other player must be either Under 16 or Over 40
Batsmen must retire at a personal score of 30 (they can return once all players have batted)
This is to stop an adult player dominating the match
Bowlers may bowl a maximum of 8 overs
Please advise me by email if you wish to enter this competition (or not) as soon as possible and by the end of january at the latest.

UNDER 21 SUNDAY LEAGUE

A successful Under 21 League is being run south of the river.

We would hope to set up something similar in 2013

If clubs wish to take part in a small SNEL version based on the League Cup 40:40 rules this summer please advise me by email before the end of January

CLUB CONTACTS

Please complete up to date details of club contacts on the SNEL Website. This should include details of your bar manager so that Shepherd Neame can contact them directly.

PLAY CRICKET
Please take advantage of the winter break to update details of your player base on Play-Cricket. Please delete players no longer with your club and ensure addresses and dates of birth are correct. We have hundreds of players who seem to live at the clubhouse. A few players are less than ten years old and many were apparently born in 1900.

HANDBOOK DETAILS
Please respond to Andy Jenner as soon as possible remember there in a heavy fine for non-submission. As at last week's meeting less than half the clubs had responded.

20:20
Clubs must arrange all group 20:20 matches by the end of January and notify George Salmon so these can be entered on the website.

It would also be helpful if you supply the email details of your fixture secretary.

I Cliff Greenhill has had to rework the fixtures for the friendly division to allow for
Billericay 5th
Harlow Town 4th (late entry)

An interesting challenge. I have composed a fixture list, this covers 11 weeks with 12 teams.
For the following teams the fixtures allow for ground sharing with another team from their club
basildon 3rd and 4th
benfleet 3rd and 4th
hainault and clayhall 5th and 6th
hornchurch 5th and 6th
horndon 3rd and 4th
hutton 5th and 6th
The games will start on the 3rd week of the season 26th May and end on 25th August.
There is a three week break 28th July, 4th and 11th August during the Olympics.
Being a friendly Division the game format is flexible with the agreement of both sides and there are lots of spare weeks if ground or player availability is a problem.

******************************

PLEASE NOTE
I have adjusted and changed all the Cat 3 Exempt registered players who have been in the UK for four year or more from the start of the season to Cat 1 as per the new regulations.
It is of the utmost importance that clubs check players to confirm that they are in the correct Category as it is Clubs responsibility to ensure that all players are in the correct Category.
Some of the dates shown as entry into the UK where somewhat strange and I have left them to be corrected.
If you have any queries or wish to changed dates but are unable to do so please email me with any changes that you may require.
IT IS YOUR CLUB'S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT ALL PLAYERS ARE REGISTERED CORRECTLY PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SEASON.
